Large fire in fish factory

The city of Tvøroyri has been evacuated.

There is a large fire developing at Varðin Pelagic, the large fish factory at Tvøroyri.

The city of Tvøroyri has been evacuated, because there are large supplies of ammonia in the factory. Ammonia is very dangerous, and can cause lethal damage if it is breathed in.

Citizens are adviced to go to the villages of Hov or Hvalba, where schools and sport-halls have been opened to receive visitors.

Smyril is on his way south now with more fire-trucks. Earlier today the fire department decided to pull out of the building, because there was no possibility to contain the fire.
